Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle manual manipulation of the back of the head used for evaluation and for making corrections in a system made up of cerebrospinal fluid, cranial and dural membranes, cranial bones, and the sacrum. The technique is somewhat similar to light massage that is aimed at freeing the flow of cerebrospinal fluid to restore balance to the physical and emotional body.
This method of Complementary and alternative medicine is used by massage therapists, naturopaths, chiropractors and osteopaths, who manually apply a subtle movement of the spinal and cranial bones in an attempt to bring the central nervous system into harmony.
